Best PS5 Exclusive Games
1) Astro’s Playroom
Why not start our list with this amazing pre-installed PS5 exclusive? Astro’s Playroom is a platform video game that was developed by Team Asobi. The Astro world is set up inside of the PS5 console.
The game starts inside the CPU Plaza which is connected to the four worlds each representing different components of the console. The artifacts are designed after the corresponding consoles namely – GPU Jungle (PS4), Cooling Springs (PS3), SSD Speedway (PS2), and Memory Meadow (PS). There are two other regions as well in the Plaza, namely – Network Speed Run and PlayStation Labo. Each of the four worlds has been split into four different levels.
The game is designed essentially for players to get a feel of the DualSense controller of PS5 and to test out its capabilities and also acts as a place to relive the PlayStation’s history. While progressing in the game, you will come across many artifacts that will include PS hardware, such as consoles, controllers, and other accessories of various generations of PlayStation. All these collectibles are then stored in PlayStation Labo and you can visit it and see all the artifacts that you have collected.
This cute little game can be played to relive PlayStation’s 30-year history.
2) Marvel’s: Spiderman 2
Marvel’s: Spiderman is one of the most anticipated PS5 exclusive games right now. It is being developed by Insomniac and was announced at the 2021 PlayStation Showcase along with some other big names that we will be discussing below. PlayStation released the trailer of the game on Sep10, 2021 on their official YouTube channel.
In this beautiful trailer, we can see Peter Parker and Miles Morales working together and fighting against the street enemies, and at the end of the trailer we get to see one of the main villains of the game, and it’s none other than “Venom”. The voice-over for Venom has been done by Tony Todd who appeared in Candyman (1992).
The game has a tentative release date window and can hit the market anytime in 2023.
Ryan Schneider, who is Insomniac’s head of franchise strategy, had said that what we saw in the trailer was just merely a glimpse of what is actually in the store. There will be more stylized suits that our heroes will wear and there will be many villains that will try to take them out.

Insomniac has established its name by delivering some of the best PS games which include the big hits of Marvel’s: Spiderman (2018), Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart (2021), and many others.
Wolverine’s last video game title came out in 2009 which was X-Men Origins: Wolverine and It has been a long time since we have seen Wolverine in his solo video game. The game was announced at PlayStation Showcase 2021. Not much information about the game is available and the gameplay trailer has not even been released. The game is still under early development and doesn’t have any release date or window as of now, but one thing can be said for sure, it will be coming after Marvel’s: Spiderman 2.
4) Horizon: Call of the Mountain
Horizon: Call of the Mountain is an upcoming PS5 exclusive. The game is being developed by Firesprite and Guerrilla Games. The game will be the first to be released for PS VR2, which is the upcoming virtual reality headset developed by Sony exclusively for PS5.
There is currently no release date for the title but since it will be played on PS VR2, obviously it is going to be launched with that or after that. According to a recent post by PlayStation’s Instagram handle, PS VR2 will be coming out in early 2023.
Initially, it is for sure that only PS VR2 and PS5 owners will get their hands on the game and that it is going to be a PS5 exclusive for a good amount of time but it can also be said that one day this game might hit PCs as well since Sony has been porting their many games to PCs, although this is just a speculation.
In this game, you will not be playing as Aloy, the main protagonist of the franchise, but as a new character named Ryas, a Shadow Carja prisoner who will be working to find out why the machines have gone rogue. Aloy will also appear in the story alongside other characters.
5) Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth
The number 4 entry on our list of best PS5 exclusive games is a Final Fantasy title Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth. This is going to be a sequel to Final Fantasy VII Remake. The game is slated to be released next winter, i.e. sometime in late 2023 or early 2024.
The game is being developed by Square Enix who has the reputation of delaying their games, so don’t get your hopes high too much because Final Fantasy VII Remake was also announced in June 2015 and it hit the markets in April 2020.
The first look trailer of the game was released during the 25th Anniversary event of Final Fantasy VII, we do not get to see much in the trailer, and it may not look much exciting but it is just the announcement and first look trailer and we should wait for Square Enix to release some good teaser trailer maybe sometime in the future.
The game will be set up outside of Midgar. We will be able to experience the places of Wutai Village, Kalm, the Gold Saucer, and other places.
6) Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
Another Insomniac’s game in the title, we know, we know. Since Insomniac is working so hard to deliver some of the best PS5 exclusive games, their other game on the list was inevitable. Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart was released in 2021.
The game was designed around PS5 only. Its interdimensional hop mechanic, in which the entire new scenes are loaded faster than an eye-blink can only be loaded using a superfast SSD, which is a feature of PS5.
As the title of the game suggests, the main feature of the game is the use of dimensional rifts which allows you to quickly travel to some other place or get dragged onto some other planets during boss fights. Ratchet and Clank demonstrate the true abilities of PS5.
You play the game as one of the two lombaxes. Playing sometimes as Ratchet and other times as Rivet, his counterpart from another dimension. The graphics displayed in Rift Apart have surpassed all the visuals that we have seen in their previous Ratchet and Clank video games, thanks to the ever-developing gaming tech.

The game is set in the cursed lands of Boletaria where the player needs to kill the fallen king Allant and pacify the Old One. You can fully customize your character including its gender. Unlike its predecessor, the game features a photo mode, which can be used to take in-depth photos of your favorite scenes. Moreover, players can apply filters and other effects to their screenshots and make them great.
The gameplay of the remake is all the way more exciting than its 2009 version. The enemies can now break the environment during battles. Another major change that the 2020 version of the game has introduced is that now the healing grass also carries some weight.
