Injustice 3 Release Date
At the time of writing, there have been no official announcements from either NetherRealm or Warner Bros and not even DC about the release date of Injustice 3. NetherRealm Chief Creative Officer, Ed Boon has recently tweeted that the studio’s next game announcement will happen in due time.
Boon stated that “PSA/FYI We know a lot of you are excited about the next NRS game announcement & it will happen in due time. But first, it is all about 30 years of Mortal Kombat. That’s what we’re going to celebrate and focus on. Our next game announcement will be separate from MK30”.
NetherRealm is known to release games after two years and now it has been more than three years since the studio’s last release. Talking to Game Informer, Ed Boon stated that there is a reason why they broke their release pattern and when the studio will make its next game announcement, it will make a lot more sense. He refrained from giving any more info on what NetherRealm’s next project is.

- Robin / Nightwing
- Green Arrow
- Doctor Mist

Injustice 3 Platforms
The previous Injustice title was available on PS4, Xbox One, Windows, and Mobile Devices. Considering all the rumors and hints from Ed Boon, we do not think that Injustice 3 is hitting the gaming market before 2025. It goes without saying that the next Injustice title is going to be better than its predecessors and it is going to be released for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and Windows. We do not think the game will be released for PS4 because, by the time Injustice 3 is released, PS4 will have aged.

Injustice 3 Storyline
There are many possibilities that NetherRealm can choose. Injustice 2 had two endings based on the side that you choose. If you opt for Superman’s side, Superman wins and re-establishes his totalitarian Regime and if you opt for Batman’s side, Batman defeats Superman and his allies and locks Superman in Phantom Zone.
We might be seeing Batman fighting Superman after the Kryptonian somehow escapes from the Phantom Zone. NetherRealms have been really cautious about not letting any of the info out of their studio, because of which we can do nothing but speculate.
As soon as we get our hands on something saucy we will make sure to update that info right here.
A movie based on the 2013 Injustice video game with the same name was released in Oct 2021. The movie follows the same plot as the video game where Joker kills Superman’s pregnant wife Lois Lane and nukes the Metropolis killing millions of people. What follows is Superman becoming vengeful and dark. After killing Joker he becomes a tyrant on Earth in order to set peace. Batman calls his other superhero friends (and even former foes) and starts an insurgency against Superman.
The movie faced criticism for several things ranging from an overstuffed plot to poor character development however critics praised the movie’s animation and the voice artists. The plot of the movie was rushed and it could have been 20-25 minutes longer.
Injustice 3 Leaks & Rumors
Rumors are that NetherRealms is currently working on Mortal Kombat 12 and not on Injustice 3. Jonathan Anderson, Senior Production Manager, Design at NetherRealm studios tweeted the above-posted picture with the caption “Old Desk Art” a while back. If you look closely at the computer screen in the top right corner, there’s an e-mail from someone with the name Christy that reads “…Do not share any part of this video…Our fans eagerly scrape the internet for any trace… take extra care with this material.”
Also, below that email, we can see a file with the name MK12_Mast… The tweet was deleted 10 minutes later it was posted. Many fans believe that this is an intentional troll and that NetherRealms is messing with their fans. Also, NR’s COO, Ed Boon has a reputation for doing such pranks and teasing their fans.
Neither NetherRealms nor Warner Bros. reacted to this leak and remained silent whenever questioned about their next project. This year marked Mortal Kombat’s 30th anniversary, so it makes more sense for the studio to be actually working on MK12. If this is true this would mean that Injustice 3 is, to say the least, years away.
Moreover, many fans have been speculating that the Wonder Woman character art that can be seen on Jonathan’s desk is for Injustice 3, although these are just speculations. This Wonder Woman art has not been used in any of the games or movies so, it might be possible that it is for Injustice 3 but there is no hint or any other rumor that can confirm this.

Is there an injustice 3 coming?
Yes, there will be an Injustice 3 and that is for sure, but it’s hard to say when is it going to be released or announced. It looks like NetherRealms is working on Mortal Kombat 12 at the moment and only after its release we are going to see some Injustice action.
Who is the main villain in Injustice 3?
We might be seeing Superman escaping from Phantom Zone and trying to kill Batman. We might see Doomsday teaming up with Superman and they both together try to re-establish the Regime. There has been no info or any leak that could give any hint about the antagonist in the next Injustice game.
What will Injustice 3 be called?
Injustice’s first title was named Gods Among Us, while the second installment was not given any title. It is speculated that NetherRealm might give the title ‘Gods Will Fall’ to Injustice 3.
Is Shazam in Injustice 2?
No, Shazam does not appear in Injustice 2. In Injustice: Gods Among Us, Superman kills him with his heat vision when Shazam tells Superman that the Regime has gone too far.
