One Piece Pirate Warriors 5 Release Date

Coming directly to the point, there is no official release date for the game as of now and developers are currently focusing on One Piece Pirate Warrior 4. Basically, the information is non-existent about the new Pirate Warriors game. We believe that Pirate Warrior 4 still has a lot of life left in it and it is not going anywhere for the next 1.5 – 2 years. Creators are still bringing in the DLC packs for the game and working on polishing the game.

One Piece Pirate Warriors 5 can come out in 2024 or maybe even 2025. Omega Force will continue to add new characters to the game through DLCs and is most probably going to focus on Pirate Warrior 4. Moreover, the Pirate Warrior 4 is the highest-selling and the most successful video game in the series, and ending its life just after 2 years doesn’t make sense (at least to me it doesn’t!)

One Piece Pirate Warriors 5 Trailer

As there is no official information available about the game and as we said earlier the info about the game is nearly non-existent at the moment, and because of that, there is no official trailer for the game! But if you really want to enjoy the awesomesauce trailer of One Piece Pirate Warrior 4, we have embedded that right over this paragraph for you.

The trailer for Pirate Warrior 4 is action-packed and fast-paced, it drew the attention of many players around the world. The game not only attracted those who have watched the One Piece anime series or have read the manga comics but also those who had neither read the comics nor seen the anime series. The last game was a commercial success and there is no doubt that when Pirate Warrior 5 drops, it is going to shatter all the previous records.

The characters in the One Piece Pirate Warriors video game series are consistently increasing. The first game featured 13 playable characters, the second featured 27, the third featured 37 and the latest game had 43+9 characters (so far 9 new characters through DLCs have been introduced).

If there is one thing that One Piece has is a huge roster of characters. One Piece Pirate Warriors 5 Gameplay

One Piece Pirate Warriors 5 Gameplay
One Piece Pirate Warriors 5 Gameplay

The One Piece Pirate Warriors series is popular for adopting the gameplay elements from their previous games. The Pirate Warriors 4 also contained many elements of previous games and sometimes the game also felt repetitive.

The thing that doesn’t live up to expectations in the One Piece Pirate Warrior games are the boss fights, if you leave some of them, most of the fights don’t offer much resistance. You can easily blow away hordes of enemies; admitted – it is pretty satisfying to crush hundreds and thousands of enemies like ants but at least there should be some challenge, some resistance that the hordes of enemies offer. This might be an area where I think, Omega Force can improve.

Another area of improvement that Omega Force could work on is better control of the characters. The gameplay is so fast-paced sometimes it becomes harder to focus on one enemy especially when they’re in mid-flight. We saw that the mid-air controls of the characters were really clumsy. So, we hope to see a better control system in One Piece Pirate Warrior 5.

One Piece Pirate Warriors 5 Rumors & News

One Piece Pirate Warriors 5 Rumors

There are no One Piece Pirate Warriors 5 rumors right now in the gaming community. Right now, neither Omega Force nor Bandai Namco seemed to be bothered about releasing the next Pirate Warrior game. There are some discussions happening on Reddit about OPPW5 and players just believe that if another game gets released anytime soon it is just going to be OPPW4 2.0.

Also, there was a difference of 5 years between the third and fourth releases, so don’t expect One Piece Pirate Warriors 5 for the next one or maybe two years at least. Notably, the One Piece Odyssey is going to be the next entry in the One Piece video game series. The game was first supposed to be released by 2022 but it got delayed to Jan 13, 2023.

As mentioned earlier, there are a total of four games in the series, all being developed by Omega Force. The four games were released in the years 2012, 2013, 2015, and 2020. Below we have described each game’s storyline briefly.

One Piece: Pirate Warriors (2012)

The first game in the series, One Piece Pirate Warriors was released in commemoration of 15 years of the One Piece manga and anime franchise. The game follows the main protagonist, Monkey D. Luffy as he accidentally consumes the Gomu Gomu fruit that grants him the abilities of rubber. The game follows Luffy as he creates a group of pirates (named Straw Hats) and goes on a quest to find a treasure. The game was released for PS3.

One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2 (2013)

Following the success of the first game, the sequel of the first game was released just a year later. The game takes a different route and does not follow the manga. The game has its own storyline and is divided into different stages known as arcs. The game was released for PS3 and PS Vita.

One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 (2015)

Pirate Warriors 3’s plot is pretty much similar to the original One Piece series. The game condenses the entire One Piece storyline into one single mission. Every arc of the entire series is summarized in the game (pretty awesome, eh?).

The game starts with Roger’s final words before he gets executed by the world government for piracy and then moves to Red Hair Shanks who prior to leaving his village handles a young Luffy his iconic Straw Hat. The game was released for PS3, PS4, PS Vita, Nintendo Switch & Windows.

One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 (2020)

Like Pirate Warriors 2, Pirate Warriors 4 also has its own story, it takes the unfinished Wano arc from the comics and modifies it. The game follows the protagonist Fluffy as he frees the country of Wano from the Governor-General of the Beasts Pirates, Kaido. The original Wano arc was ongoing during the time of the release of the game.
