The Sims, a beloved life simulation video game, has had tremendous success since its initial release in 2000. It has developed a considerable fan base and is ranked in the top 10 best-selling games ever, with over 200 million copies sold.

To date, EA has released four main The Sims titles and many spinoffs. Examining the release pattern of the games, one can observe that a new installment is introduced after every four or five years.

Nevertheless, more than eight years have passed since The Sims 4 was launched, yet there is no sign of The Sims 5.

As such, queries concerning this highly awaited game are rapidly mounting; everyone wants to know When we will play The Sims 5? And to be honest, none of us know for sure when the game will be completely ready.

One thing is for sure, the game will be released for PC and the lack of information about the game can’t stop us from speculating about The Sims 5 system requirements. We will list the speculated minimum and recommended system requirements for The Sims 5.

The Sims 5 Overview

  • Developers – Maxis & The Sims Studio
  • Release Date – TBA
  • Platforms – TBA

On October 18, 2022, Maxis announced the development of their upcoming installment of The Sims, dubbed “Project Rene.” This game allows for solo or collaborative play and cross-play. Unlike The Sims 4, Project Rene offers more furniture customization possibilities. Furthermore, the buy-and-build mode in this project is multiplayer; thus, gamers can customize structures jointly. Maxis further declared that they are still creating this title and will provide extra information and updates regarding it later.

Not much information has been revealed by either EA or Maxis about their upcoming game. This makes it harder to speculate The Sims 5 release date, but we believe the game will take another two years or so to develop. This means the game is not coming anytime before winter 2024.

The Sims 5 Minimum System Requirements

We believe that The Sims 5 minimum system requirements will not be very demanding and ask for feeble Intel’s fourth generation i3 processor or AMD FX-6000 Series. This is just another way of saying that any dual-core processor that came after 2015 will pull the game off. The first Intel Core i3 processor in the fourth generation was the i3-4170, which is a dual-core and four-thread processor; on the other hand, though the AMD FX-6000 series is a series of hexacore processors, its performance per core is not appreciable. For running the game, ensure you have a better processor than the ones mentioned above.

The game will require anything better than GeForce GTX 660 or AMD Radeon RN 370 on the GPU front. Both the GPUs are entry-level and are found in most of the low to medium-budget gaming builds. You will need to pair these GPUs with an 8GB RAM stick, which is usual for today’s games.

Moreover, you will require a Windows 10 or 11 64-bit OS and accessible storage of 40 GB. Though it is not mentioned since the game will also be online multiplayer, you will also require a stable internet connection to play the game.

The Sims 5 Recommended System Requirements

We recommended Intel 4th Gen i7 or AMD’s 1st Gen Ryzen processors in The Sims 5 recommended system requirements. The Intel Core i7 4th gen processors were launched after June 2013. To simplify things, if you have a quad-core processor that came out after 2014, you should be able to play the game in its maximum settings.

You will require a GeForce GTX 780Ti or AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT or anything better than these graphic cards paired with a RAM stick of at least 8 GB if you want to juice out every frame from the game. GTX 780Ti has a VRAM of 3GB and RX 5500 XT has 4GB VRAM; this means that you can run the game on the highest setting if you have a GPU with at least 3 GB of VRAM and if it is paired with a quad-core processor that came out after 2014.

Though not mentioned, your game will run significantly faster if installed on an SSD. The other things like OS, RAM, and storage remain constant; you will require 64-bit Windows 10/11, 8GB RAM and 60 GB free storage, and an internet connection to enjoy the game at full settings without any hassles.
