This game is the earliest one in the AC franchise in terms of storyline. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is based on actual events of history combat participation centered in Greek Culture.
The storyline of Odyssey is set during the Peloponnesian War between Sparta and Athens and even features key historical figures from that period, including Hippocrates, Socrates, and Plato.
Players are allowed to choose from two characters at the start of the game either Alexios or Kassandra, the grandchildren of Sparta’s King Leonidas I.
No matter which character you choose the storyline of the game will follow the same events. However, an aspect of the experience involves issues in the present and features a player who employs a technology identified as “the Animus” to investigate their predecessors’ recollections.

Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Origins is an intervention game that debuted in the year 2017. It is a soft reboot of the Assassin’s Creed franchise and the first game to introduce RPG mechanics.

This game broke the internet and had gamers talking about it worldwide. The storyline of AC Valhalla features Eivor as he assists the Hidden Ones against the Order of the Ancients. They’re rare Assassin’s Creed protagonists who work alongside the Brotherhood without joining it.

This is the first entry in the Assassin’s Creed franchise. Players take on the role of Desmond Miles and a legendary assassin named Altair.
Players can climb around a massive open-world city environment while evading soldiers armed with swords and jumping across rooftops.
The storyline takes place with Desmond undergoing a series of strange sci-fi tests in the Abstergo Industries building involving a memory simulation device called the Animus.
The Animus allows people to access and relive the memories of their ancestors and Desmond relives the memory of his ancestor Altair.
This game shocked the whole gaming community as this game did something that had never been done before. The gameplay was staggering in this game as the players can freely enjoy the open world parkour and fight soldiers with swords and their hidden blades.
Stealth was the biggest element in this game as players could blend in with other people and hide in bushes or even sit on benches among crowds to enter restricted areas undetected. This game was a huge achievement for Ubisoft and a sequel was bound to happen.

The gameplay was drastically improved in this game. The developers added more elements to the gameplay than in the previous. Players can now swim for the first time and even perform counterattacks and air assassinations.
This game improved the stealth elements as players can now grab enemies and pull them into a hiding spot while assassinating them. The protagonist of this game was loved by fans worldwide so Ubisoft decided to extend his storyline even further.

The storyline of this game takes place right after the events of Assassin’s Creed II where Ezio returns back to his family. Soon after returning home Borgia’s son attacks Ezio’s place and assassinates his uncle Mario and steals the apple of Eden for himself
Ezio and his family manage to escape the attack through a tunnel beneath their castle. Ezio later then decides to head back to Rome to build the Assassin Brotherhood back stronger.

This is the final game that features Ezio Auditore da Firenze as the main protagonist. Ubisoft decided to close off Ezio’s story with Assassin’s Creed Revelations.
The storyline of the game starts with Demond Miles once again as he is in Coma after the events of Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood. Ezio is now an older man and much wiser, he now sets out to find the secret of the legendary Assassin Altair.
The gameplay of AC Revelations is quite similar to its predecessor however it is quite improved. The game introduced a Hookblade which is a crucial weapon granted to Ezio that enables him to explore the city quickly and effectively.
Several zip lines might be discovered across the town’s roofs to match only with Hookblade, shortening journey time.

This game took gamers back to the 2D era. The storyline is set in the 16 century of Imperial China, during the Ming Dynasty and players are given control of Shao Jun.
Shao Jun was first introduced in an animated short movie known as Assassin’s Cred: Embers. Jun returns to China after a long journey to Europe where she was trained by her mentor Ezio Auditore. Yes, the legendary assassin was her mentor.
Jun needs to eliminate the eight tigers (a group of influential Templars) who rule China. The game received mixed reviews from gamers and critics worldwide but AC Chronicles is still fun to play to this day.
13. Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag (1715 AD to 1722 AD)

For the first time in the AC franchise, Ubisoft introduced a protagonist who was a Pirate. The players are given control of the protagonist called Edward Kenway, a Pirate who used to work hard to earn a livelihood and bring food to the table for himself and his wife Caroline Scott-Kenway.
The players also take control of an unnamed character who works for Abstergo Entertainment in the present and explore the memories of Demond Miles from his DNA after his death.
The storyline of this game starts with Edward Kenway as he and his crew members are attacked by an enemy ship trying to sink them. Both the ships then explode due to the Cargo barrels on board.
Edward then swims to a seashore where he finds an Assassin who is trying to reach Havana as soon as possible. After chasing the Assassin for a bit Edward kills him and disguises himself as the Assassin and later sets out for Havana.
This game had an epic storyline and introduced some legendary characters like Black Beard. The gameplay of this game was just fantastic and focused a lot on Naval Combat.
The visuals of this game were huge improvements over the previous titles. Players can now sail their very own ship which Edward will acquire as players progress through the game.

This game was initially set to be a DLC for Black Flag before being released as a standalone title. The storyline of this game is set 20 years after the events of Black Flag where players are given the control of the protagonist named Adéwalé
Adéwalé was a slave who freed himself and hundreds of his brothers in the West Indies. The gameplay of this title is almost identical to Black Flag and the visuals are the same as well, so there isn’t much to discuss but the Storyline of this game is fine overall.

This game is my favorite entry in the franchise and takes place 39 years after the events of Freedom Cry, AC Rogue is one of the best Assassin’s Creed games ever made in terms of storyline.
The game features the protagonist named Shay Patrick Cormac who’s a low-level assassin being trained by his superiors. Shay had a sharp mind and a great personality, especially the ability to be great.
The storyline of this game starts with Shay and Liam out hunting later stealing a ship named the Morrigan that Shay owns later in the game.
Shay used to support the ideology of the Assassins until he started to question it and later denied following the same ideology as his brotherhood.
Shay then is shot by his fellow Assassins as he tries to make them understand that the Assassins are wrong. Shay survives and later Joins the Templars and assassinates his fellow Assassins to stop their menacing activities.
The gameplay is similar to AC Black Flag with a few minor changes but the visuals are just exquisite and many locations in the game are breathtaking.

This is the last game in the Assassin’s Creed franchise that featured Desmond Miles. The Storyline of this game starts with Desmond Miles locating a precursor site with his friends and father, later Desmond relives and explores more memories of his Ancestors.
The protagonist of this game is named Ratonhnhaké:ton, also known as Connor and he fights the Templars and assassinates them. This game also features Haytham Kenway (Son of Edward Kenway) who is the father of Connor.
Many gamers consider this to be the best Assassin’s Creed game ever made because of its staggering gameplay and exquisite graphics.
