One Piece Pirate Warriors 5 Release Date
Coming directly to the point, there is no official release date for the game as of yet, as developers are currently focusing on One Piece Pirate Warrior 4 and releasing additional content for it. Basically, the information is non-existent about the new Pirate Warriors game. We believe Pirate Warrior 4 still has a lot of life left in it and is not going anywhere for the next 1.5 – 2 years. Developers are still bringing in DLC packs for the game and are working on further polishing the game.
One Piece Pirate Warriors 5 will probably come out in late 2024 or early 2025. Omega Force will continue adding new characters to the game through DLCs and will most probably focus on Pirate Warrior 4 for a few years more. Moreover, the Pirate Warrior 4 is the highest-selling and the most successful video game in the series, hence ending its circulation after just two years doesn’t sound like a move Omega Force is currently willing to make.

One Piece Pirate Warriors 5 Gameplay
The One Piece Pirate Warriors series is popular for adopting the gameplay elements from their previous games. The Pirate Warriors 4 also contained many elements of previous games and sometimes the game also felt repetitive.
The thing that doesn’t live up to expectations in the One Piece Pirate Warrior games are the boss fights; if you leave some of them, most of the fights don’t offer much resistance. You can easily blow away hordes of enemies; admitted – it is pretty satisfying to crush hundreds and thousands of enemies like ants but at least there should be some challenge, some resistance that the hordes of enemies offer. This might be an area where we think Omega Force can improve upon in the next part, whenever that may be.
Another area where Omega Force could improve upon is to give players better control of the in-game characters. The gameplay is just so fast-paced that sometimes it becomes hard for players to focus on an enemy character. Moreover, we also noticed that the mid-air controls of the characters were really clumsy as well, so we hope to see better controls for it in One Piece Pirate Warrior 5.
One Piece Pirate Warriors 5 Rumors & News
There are no OPPW 5 rumors right now in the gaming community. Right now, neither Omega Force nor Bandai Namco seemed to be bothered about releasing the next Pirate Warrior game. Some discussions are happening on Reddit about OPPW5 that it can be released anytime soon, but everything is based on rumors at the moment, with nothing confirmed.
Also, there was a difference of 5 years between the third and fourth releases, so don’t expect One Piece Pirate Warriors 5 for the next one or maybe two years at least. Notably, the One Piece Odyssey is going to be the next entry in the One Piece video game series. The game was first supposed to be released by 2022 but it got delayed to Jan 13, 2023.

One Piece: Pirate Warriors (2012)
The first game in the series, One Piece Pirate Warriors, was released in commemoration of 15 years of the One Piece manga and anime franchise. The game follows the main protagonist, Monkey D. Luffy as he accidentally consumes the Gomu Gomu fruit that grants him the ability of rubber. The game follows Luffy as he creates a group of pirates (named Straw Hats) and goes on a quest to find a treasure. The game was released for PlayStation 3.
One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2 (2013)
Following the first game’s success, its sequel was released just a year later. The game takes on a slightly different route and does not follow the manga. The game has its own storyline and is divided into different stages known as arcs. The game was released for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.
One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 (2015)
Pirate Warriors 3’s plot is pretty much similar to the original One Piece series. The game condenses the entire One Piece storyline into one single mission. Every arc of the entire series is summarized in the game (pretty awesome, eh?).
The game starts with Roger’s final words before he gets executed by the world government for piracy and then moves to Red Hair Shanks who, before leaving his village, handles a young Luffy his iconic Straw Hat. One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 (2020)
Like Pirate Warriors 2, Pirate Warriors 4 also has its own story; it modifies the unfinished Wano arc from the comics. The game follows the protagonist Fluffy as he frees the country of Wano from the Governor-General of the Beasts Pirates, known as Kaido. The original Wano arc was ongoing during the time of the release of the game.
