On January 12, 2023, Skull and Bones received the sixth and latest delay to Ubisoft’s fiscal year 2023 to 2024.

The Skull and Bones Storyline will be set during the ‘Golden Age of Piracy’ – a period between the 1650s and the 1730s when maritime piracy was a significant issue around the globe. Ubisoft has settled on an open-world environment inspired by the Indian Ocean, which the publisher has described as being “beautiful yet dangerous.” Players will be able to explore this setting as a pirate on the rise – starting out as a lowly outcast who is focused on gaining infamy and hunting for resources, funneling the pair into building the ultimate pirate ship. 

Even tho the game has got a staggering storyline, we believe that players are going to enjoy and focus more on the multiplayer mode of the game as it would be more fun and enjoyable. Now let us jump onto Skull and Bones Gameplay.

Skull and Bones Gameplay

We had a glimpse of Skull and Bones Gameplay at the 2018 E3 Trailer for the game. In the Trailer, we can clearly see that Skull and Bones Gameplay is heavily inspired by Assassin’s Creed Black Flag. Players will be able to captain their ship and target their weapons with indicators showing where their cannons will fire. Players can see the level of the opposing ship, as well as a health bar.

The boarding system also feels exactly like that of that Assassin’s Creed game, although the trailer completely forgoes showing us how close combat will look if it is even in the game at all. Skull and Bones will also feature multiplayer mode so players can face off against other players and loot their ships by boarding them.

Skull and Bones will also feature on-foot navigation meaning that players can explore islands on foot but again we saw the Trailer back in 2018 and it has been almost 5 years and the game might have undergone loads of changes in the gameplay. We hope that the gameplay will be much better than AC Black Flag but we do not want you all to raise all your expectations high.
