The Chinese indie action RPG Black Myth: Wukong was given a gameplay trailer in early 2021, which garnered a lot of attention. To commemorate the start of the Year of the Ox, developer Game Science stated that while this trailer does not contain any story elements from the game, it does present some new features such as an area filled with different enemies and bosses as well as spells that haven’t been seen before.

We observe rapid fights against agile wolf-like humanoids, a rat with a spear and shield, presumably a lightning-throwing mage, and a horde of minuscule red-eyed attackers in a dry environment that features lifeless vegetation and monuments. Not to be forgotten are the imposing opponents such as a giant mouse-like creature made of flesh, a two-headed rat endowed with fire breath, and an immense ox that looks like a man.

In the end, we get to see a caption that makes it clear that the trailer is specially produced for celebrating the Year of the Ox and it does not represent the actual plot.

Development of Black Myth: Wukong began six years ago, with the dev team putting in countless overtime hours.
